"Alar's Recording Studio" is the brain child of Federico 'Alar' Simonazzi. In the 90s, after working as a DJ at various clubs and events, he became producer and sound engineer for dance music programme on two radio stations. Alar's Recording Studio then gradually moved away from recording radio programmes, mixing, and producing jingles, to become a music production "Project studio", working at that time with various vinyl record stores too. His first encounter with Computer Music was as a young boy when he attached a speaker to the Commodore 64 cassette player… Federico then progressed to Trakers on Amiga, and later to Cubase on the classic Atari 1040 where he recorded and played his firsts synths and samplers (Roland W30, DJ70, Korg M1, Juno 106) by MIDI. And that was just the beginning…
Thanks to the knowhow he acquired during his years of DJing and studio experience, Federico has been able to take Alar's Recording Studio to new heights as a successful all-round provider of music and audio services, also thanks to his partnerships with a number of professional musicians, singers and speakers. As well as collaborating on projects with third parties, Federico is himself an active producer, sound engineer, sound designer, and songwriter in his own right. His successes include a song for Italy called "Shadows of my life" written and produced with Amerigo Provenzano DJ under the pseudonym "One Rule", and "Trouble" by Spy; the latter has been published in various foreign countries on Universal and EMI/Capital labels. Federico "Alar" Simonazzi and the keyboard player Andrea "Satomi" Bertorelli wrote a demo song for the "Voice for your Song" service called "More Than You Could Ever Know" for the session singer Stevie Biondi. Mario Biondi, Steve's brother, happened to like the song and chose it. He created a more a "acoustic" version and recorded it with Steve for his album: "Due - With Unexpected Glimpses" (2011). In the last 12 years Federico has recorded numerous tracks and vocals in his recording studio, which have been published, licensed and/or produced on vinyl, CDs, or as digital download like Beatport, Amazon and iTunes, on labels such as Emi, Capitol Records, Universal, C.A.M. records, Time Records, Elemedia, Kadabra, Jaywork,Go Records, DIY, Expanded, Kaktoo Entertainment Group (Argentina), EGO, SELF, B.M. Records, Swonk Music, etc.. "Alar's Recording Studio" has not only recorded many new artists and produced its own material, but it has also provided B2B services in the audio/multimedia field for companies such as Buongiorno.it, Telecom Italia, Wind, etc., TV and radio commercials and documentaries broadcasted in the national (Italia 1, Radio DJ etc..) and International networks (BBC 4, UK). Federico has also written few technical articles for Trend Magazine.
In April 2007 he developed a new way of presenting DJ equipment, Recording Studios and musical instruments, using Alar's youtube.com/alarmusic channel. It is a cut above other on-line reviews and magazines. He gives realistic demonstrations of how products work as well new and interesting practical ideas. The Youtube channel gets on average about 5200 views a day and acts as a vehicle for the promotion and technical support of products distributed by the EKO MUSIC GROUP with whom Federico has an on-going working relationship. During a lecture on EKO M. G marketing techniques at the Faculty of Economics, at PiacenzaUniversity (Cattolica), Italy, the video demonstrations, web pages and social networks, run by Federico for the ESOUND division, were cited as examples of successful marketing: the project was the first at that time for Italy and has been copied by counterparts in other countries. As well as product demonstrations, the youtube page runs regular focus on the International fairs that Federico usually attends (WINTER NAMM, MUSIKMESSE, PLASA, BPM, PALM SHOW, etc.), various tutorials, promotion for Alar's Recording Studio and his clients. Every December since 2009 the groups Numark/Alesis/AKAI have sent seasonal greetings to their clients all around the world using a Christmas “funny” video in which Federico stars with DJ Giaga and Cordella.
